Vincent Edward Arnold

He was born September 3, 1935, in Easton, PA, to Henry Fredrick Arnold and Margaret Jeanette Ehrlacher.

Vince spent his early years in Easton, PA, and later in Pohatcong, NJ, with his mother; his stepfather, Henry Nowicki; his sister, Lynn; and his brother, Dave.

After graduating from high school in 1953, Vince enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served as a Cryptologic Technician Third Class at the Navy Communications Station in Washington, DC. After his discharge in 1956, he studied Economics and Business Administration while working full time and raising a family with his wife, Violet Lorraine Ahart. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Moravian College in 1961 and began his business career.

Vince built a long career in Management Information Systems, working for Loews Corporation, Marriott, RCA, Coopers & Lybrand, The Bergen Record, Fairchild Publications, Capital Cities/ABC, the Institute of Management Accountants, The New Haven Register, UFT/Medallion Systems, and The McGraw-Hill Companies. He retired in 2000 and moved to Virginia with his wife, Ellen Casey Arnold.

Vince loved golf and movies, especially westerns, and had a deep interest in medieval, English, and American history. He was a longtime Washington Redskins fan and a proud member of American Legion Post 354 in Midlothian, VA.

Vince’s marriage to Violet Lorraine Ahart ended in divorce. He was predeceased by his parents; his stepfather; his second wife, Janey Sue Willows; and two grandchildren, Alyssa Ranea Smith and Brandon James Hancewicz.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Ellen Casey Arnold; his daughters, Valerie (Bob) Bundro of Houston, TX, Debbie (John) Kerekes of Houston, TX, and Chrissie (Kevin) Smith of Kilgore, TX; his stepsons, John Harrell of Lorton, VA, and Steve (Rayna) Harrell of Sewickley, PA; his sister, Lynn (Pete) Frank of Powell, OH; his brother, Dave (Karen) Nowicki of Interlaken, NY; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Inurnment will be held at the Virginia Veterans Cemetery at Amelia at a later date.
