Tom was full of energy and never met a stranger. As a small child he befriended others on the playground and wanted to bring his "new best friends" home to continue the fun even though he didn’t know their names. He was kind, compassionate, loving, and conscientious. He was a beautiful soul with an amazing moustache.
A graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University, Tom was the Executive Secretary to the president of the Commonwealth Alliance for Rural Colleges.
Tom’s passions included spending time with family and friends, walking his dog Woody and cat Guillermo, outdoor adventures and any kind of chain saw work. He enjoyed fine food and spirits, many, many podcasts be it humor, true crime, politics or news, and relaxing by a good fire. His favorite getaway was Deltaville, VA where he spent time on the Chesapeake Bay floating on a raft, fishing from the boat or hot dogging on a jet ski.
Tom was predeceased by his grandfathers Marshall Turner and Charles Jett, Sr, and uncle David Jett. He is survived by his partner Madison Baril, parents Lisa and Charles Jett, Jr., sister Emily Main and husband Chase, brother Ethan Jett, nephew and nieces Hunter, Hallie and Ivy Main, grandmothers Marian Turner and Anne Jett, many aunts, uncles and cousins and a host of friends he considered family. Tom was a staunch ally to many communities and a fierce advocate for his partner.
A private memorial service will be held later.
Mourn not that he is gone but rejoice forever that he was.
