Patricia Gail "Patty Gail" Morgan, 65, passed away on February 1, 2025, in Chesapeake, Virginia. Born on October 25, 1959, in Nashville, Tennessee, Patty lived a life filled with love, care, and devotion to her family and those around her.
Patty dedicated her career to caring for others as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), a role that perfectly suited her compassionate nature. She spent her life ensuring the well-being of those in need, offering kindness and support to countless individuals throughout her career.
Beyond her work, Patty found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She had a deep love for gardening, nurturing plants with the same care she gave to people. She also had a passion for thrifting, finding beauty and purpose in giving old things new life. Singing karaoke brought her happiness, and she never missed an opportunity to share a song with friends and family. Most of all, she cherished time spent with her grandchildren—Jack, Leo, and Lyric Morgan—who were the light of her life. Her love for them knew no bounds, as she often said she loved them "to the moon and back."
Patty is survived by her beloved daughter Michele Morgan and daughter-in-law Jenny Morgan; her treasured grandchildren Jack, Leo, and Lyric Morgan; her dear sister-in-love Betty-Lou Sammons; and her siblings Jean Bakwin, Lisa Lindgren, Peter Bakwin, Chris Bakwin, Liz Bakwin Eason, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother Doris Winchester Bakwin; father Nelson Polk; step-fathers Leon Anderson and Michael Bakwin; and brother Jimmy Polk.
In addition to the love she shared with family and friends, Patty had a special place in her heart for animals. She adored snuggling with her fur babies and found comfort in their companionship.
Patty's warmth, generosity, and unwavering love will be deeply missed by all who knew her. May her memory bring comfort to those who loved her.
Patty’s wishes were to be cremated and spread in the Harpeth River with her brother Jimmy. I will bring her to Tennessee in about a year/next Spring and will plan a small service then and send invitations. No service will be held in Virginia.
