Born on December 14, 1943, in Richmond, Virginia, to Homer H. Price and Marie A. Cumber.
She graduated from Armstrong High School and went on to study nursing before starting a position at Union Envelope Company, then moved on to work at Wyeth Pharmaceuticals where she retired. Her love of people and nursing was how she spent her retirement and became a home health companion for Care Advantage for over a decade.
She was briefly married to Clary L. Stevens Jr. with whom they welcomed their only child, Clarinda.
Lillian loved animals, houseplants, and anything blue. She was kind and generous, strong-willed, and fiercely independent. She loved cartoons, the soaps, wrestling, and court TV. She adored her family and friends and was quick to say something silly to get you to laugh or even laugh at herself.
She is survived by her daughter Clarinda "Cleo" Baker, son-in-law Christopher Baker, and grandson Steven Baker who was the absolute light of her life. She leaves her sister Kathy Cokes, nephew Ronnie Cokes, Jr., niece Shannon (Joseph) Jean-Pierre, niece Courtney Tisdale, and several cousins as well as many friends to mourn her loss. She was preceded in death by her father Homer Price, stepfather Joseph Tisdale Sr., mother Marie Tisdale, and brother Joseph Tisdale Jr.
An informal memorial service will be held in the Community Room at Chester Village Senior Apartments, 11701 Chester Village Drive, Chester, VA 23831 on Sunday, September 20, 2026 at 1:00 pm. Guests are asked to park in unnumbered spaces only.
In lieu of flowers, Lillian would love for you to share your time, talent, or treasure with your local animal shelter. She adopted 3 of her furry companions from the Richmond SPCA if you would like to make a donation to a specific location in her memory.
