Kenneth 'Ken' William Arpin, 84, went to be with the Lord on June 7, 2026. Born in Michigan on September 15, 1941. Ken moved to Chester, Virginia to continue his career with the Army, serving in Korea, Germany, and Panama.
Ken’s life was marked by steady commitment—faithfully given to his church, his work, and most especially to the people he loved. He was a member of The Heights Baptist Church and devoted 35 years of service to the US Department of Army. He found genuine enjoyment in time with family, in the familiar cadence of baseball games, and in music that could fill a room with quiet meaning. A graduate of Michigan State, he was a loyal Spartan fan, he carried that same steadfast spirit into the everyday moments that made life rich.
Kenneth is survived by his wife of 46 years, Kyong Arpin; daughters Kristin Arpin Medwid, Sora Barnes (Kristoff), and Yonogi Turner; his brother, Richard Arpin; grandchildren, Mariah Harold Good, Tanya Turner, Kiana and Xavier Barnes, Atticus Burt, Edward Lowe, and John Turner; brother, Richard 'Ric' Arpin and his children, Matthew Arpin and Melissa Duimstra; his sister in law, Nora Arpin; sister in law, Sue Yoon; nieces and nephews; friends, Dr. Duane Ross (Elaine Virginia), Henry Crites (Marie), and Beverly Nelan; and an abundance of extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Francis L. and Nora F. Arpin; son, Blake Arpin; brother, Mark Arpin; son in laws, Eugene Medwid and Michael Turner.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 am at The Heights Baptist Church, 17201 US-1, South Chesterfield, VA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Heights Baptist Church in Ken's memory.
