Mr. John C Ortega Jr.

Ortega, John Chancey (JC) Jr., 63, of Henrico, Virginia, died January 8, 2021, after a struggle with Covid-19. He was preceded in death by his father John Chancey Ortega; and his mother, Myrtle Ortega. He is survived by his wife, Trace B. Ortega, of Henrico, Virginia; his son, John Chancey Ortega III (Stephanie) of Sandston, Virginia; his stepsons, Chris Powell (Ashley) of King William, Virginia, Jay Bassett of Henrico, Virginia, His stepdaughter, Allyson Bower (Josh) of Sandston, Virginia; seven grandchildren, Paislee, Teyha, Autumn, Juliette, Austin, Hailey and Zane. He is also survived by his brothers, Jimmy Ortega (Necole) of North Carolina, and Daniel Ortega (Penny) of New Kent, Virginia, and numerous cousins. JC was born in Richmond and was a 1975 graduate of Varina High School. He was employed by General Electric for 35 years. After retiring, JC enjoyed fishing and spending quality time with his family. He will be remembered most for his love and devotion to his children and grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
