Ernest Peter Wiedemann passed away peacefully on Monday, December 1, 2025. He was born on October 25, 1938, to Esther and Arvin Wiedemann in New Haven, Connecticut, and was raised with siblings Paul and Ruthie. After graduating, Ernie moved to Richmond, Virginia, and worked at Economy Cast Stone. He served in the United States Army from 1961-1963. In 1979, Ernie and his brother Paul founded Seaboard Concrete Products Company.
In 1971, Ernie married Nancy Gunneson, and they raised three children in Midlothian. Ernie enjoyed road trips with Nancy across the United States, and they loved entertaining and bringing people together (often with Polka or Country records). Since his childhood trips to Ebbets Field with his father, he enjoyed watching sports with family and friends. Ernie also enjoyed admiring great cast stone work, especially when produced by Seaboard. Most of all, Ernie cherished his wife, children, family, and friends. He was surrounded by love.
Ernie is survived by his children, Christine, Daniel, Susan, Todd Diamond, and Suri Raut.
A celebration of Ernie's life will be held from 11 am - 2 pm on Saturday, April 18, 2026 at the Boathouse at Sunday Park (4602 Millridge Pkwy, Midlothian, VA 23112) in the Gardens Pavilion. In lieu of flowers, please recognize The Michael J. Fox Foundation (https://www.michaeljfox.orgmichaeljfox.org) or Crater Community Hospice (https://www.cratercommunityhospice.org).
