Born on July 2, 1976, in Richmond, Virginia, Elizabeth grew up in Hanover County, Virginia where she graduated from Atlee High School in 1994. After high school, she worked at Atlantic Union Bank until she was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis at the age of 22.
Elizabeth was known for her kind heart, gentle spirit and deep love for her family. She found joy in life's simple blessings and treasured time spent listening to music, scrapbooking, creating wreaths and other crafts, cake decorating, enjoying the beauty of the Rappahannock River and sharing her lifelong love of horses.
Above all else, Elizabeth loved her family. She was a devoted daughter, a caring sister and a proud and loving mother whose greatest joy was her son. Her warmth, compassion and unwavering love touched the lives of all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Pauline Perkins Smith and Raymond Smith, Sr., and her paternal grandparents, Gertrude Edith Peace Rudolph and William Thomas Rudolph, Sr., and uncles, Richard A. Heidemann, Larry Wayne Rudolph, Charles Edward Rudolph and Robert Warren Crenshaw, III.
Elizabeth is survived by her son, Ryan Thomas Laney of King William, Virginia; her parents William Thomas (Tommy) Rudolph, Jr. and Paula Jean Hash Rudolph of Wake, Virginia; her sister, Christine Rudolph-Osborne of Wake, Virginia; nephew Joshua Osborne Young of Stony Creek, Virginia; a devoted aunt, Carol Hash Heidemann of Orlando, Florida; aunts Mildred Cole Rudolph of Hanover, Virginia, Page Pembroke Rudolph of Weems, Virginia and Faye Rudolph Crenshaw of Moseley, Virginia; numerous other family members and friends.
Elizabeth's life was a testament to the enduring power of love, faith, and family. While her family and friends mourn her passing, they find comfort in their faith and take solace in knowing that her earthly journey has ended and she now rests in perfect peace in God's heavenly kingdom and is reunited with loved ones who went before her.
Her memory will continue to live on and she will be forever loved, forever remembered and forever held in the hearts of her family and friends until they meet again.
