Deborah was preceded in death by her mother, Celeste June Baker Woody; and her father, Joseph A Woody, Sr. Left to honor her legacy are her step-mother, Debra R Woody; sisters, Christy Davis and Danielle Saunders; brother, Joseph Woody, Jr.; step-children, Wendy, Mark, and Jeff Phillips; a host of nieces, nephews, and close friends, including Laura Harper and Chockie Roberts.
After graduating from UVA in 1976, Deborah worked as an administrative assistant for the Executive and Sales Department at Power Systems and Controls for PSC. She was with the company for over thirty years and left lasting impressions on her coworkers who will miss her dearly. As a trailblazer and believer in woman’s rights, she paved the way for herself and future women by becoming an outstanding sales representative in a male dominated industry.
For her entire life, Deborah liked to perform acts of love for her family and friends. Deborah can be best described as an understated angel. Her selflessness and loyalty have left a lasting impression on those who had the honor to know her and experience her love. Deborah was very active in her neighborhood association and other community groups. Not only was Deborah an acclaimed horticulturalist who enjoyed nature, but she also was an avid exercise enthusiast and attended Jazzercise regularly for many years.
The family will hold a Celebration of Life at 3pm on June 7, 2026 at Battery Park Christian Church, 4201 Brook Rd. Richmond, VA 23227.
