Craig Harrison Parker, age 67, quietly passed away at Brookdale Senior Living on July 5th after a brief illness. Recently retired, he lived in Midlothian, Virginia with his wife, Brenda Kabler that he married in November 2025.
Craig was born in Rock Hill, South Carolina on August 21,1958 to Hugh and Betty (Harrison) Parker who preceded him in death. He is survived by siblings Martin (Tara) of Goose Creek, SC and Gail (Robert) Chapp of Iron Station, NC. In addition, he has one nephew, Jesse Parker, and three nieces, Maggie Parker, Ashley Thompson, and Hannah (Braden) Huitt.
Craig graduated from Winthrop College in 1981 with a Bachelor of Science in Business, and soon after he took a position at Carotek, Inc. as a sales representative. This began a career that would span 42 years, and he would become not only the company’s Vice President of Virginia Operations, but a respected colleague, mentor, and friend.
In August 1986, he married Grace Schneckenburger. For more than 26 years they lived in Midlothian, and together they built both a home and a family as they reared three children, Stephen (Miranda) of Poulsbo, Washington; Kaitlen (Mike) Todd of Los Angeles, California, and Gretchen Parker, also of Los Angeles, California. He has two grandsons, Roman and Rhodes Todd; and a step grandson, James Todd.
In August 2014, he married Vicki Northcott who preceded him in death in 2024. During the time they shared, he became a stepfather to Vicki’s three children Tessa (Jimmy) Duff, Kara Northcott, and Chase Northcott.
Throughout his life, Craig had many passions. He was an ardent supporter of his beloved NC State Wolfpack, and for decades had season football tickets. He loved NASCAR and fast cars, hunting with his brother at their family farms in NC, and a blend of music. He had eclectic taste for bands and performers like ACDC, The Eagles, Coldplay, Johnny Cash, and Rod Stewart, but he held the Irish band, U2 in the highest regard, and for more than 30 years, he and his favorite cousin, Jeanne Wilton, were front and center during all their US tours.
Craig was a born engineer and builder with a strong work ethic, and he took special pride in his yards and flower gardens. He designed and built patios, garden walls, and firepits, and he constructed his children’s first playsets as well as a doghouse that was a replica of the first house he built with Grace. There was never a room that he could not improve, including those he would enter simply as friend or family.
Craig had a big smile, a caring heart, and an infectious laugh. He loved and was loved, and he will be missed by all that were fortunate enough to know him. A celebration of Craig’s life will be held at 1:00 pm on July 30th at The Boathouse at Sunday Park located at 4602 Millridge Parkway in Midlothian. A reception will follow, and all are invited to attend.
