Born on April 29, 1941, in Richmond, Virginia, Bobbie was the cherished daughter of the late Robert and Zela McBride. She lived a life of kindness, grace and a genuine love for others.
For more than 20 years, Bobbie served as a labor and delivery nurse, helping welcome countless babies into the world. She cared for mothers and newborns with a positive presence and a compassionate heart that made a meaningful difference in the lives of so many families.
Bobbie's greatest joy was her family. She was a devoted mother to her three children: John Lively, Matt Lively, and Samantha Ruppert, and a loving grandmother to her four grandchildren: Nathan Lively, Jane Lively, Roland Ruppert and Wyatt Ruppert. She cherished every moment with them and was so proud of the people they are.
Her faith in God was the cornerstone of Bobbie's life. A devoted member of her church, she found true joy in worship and fellowship. Music was one of God's gifts that she treasured most, she sang in the church choir, lifting her voice in praise and touching the hearts of many. Through every season of life, her faith sustained her and was reflected in the kindness, and compassion she extended to everyone she met.
Bobbie loved getting lost in a good book, expressing her creativity through sewing and crafting, and celebrating every season and special occasion. She always seemed to have the perfect outfit for every holiday, bringing a little extra cheer to everyone.
Bobbie will be remembered for her caring heart, her deep faith, and her unconditional love for family and friends. She will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love, faith, and kindness will continue to live on in the lives of those she touched.
The family will have a memorial service at 11am on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at Huguenot Road Baptist Church, 10525 W Huguenot Road, North Chesterfield, VA 23235, and a reception to follow.
