Nancy was born on November 25, 1960, in Waynesboro, Virginia, to George W. Grove and Ann W. Grove. She grew up on a dairy farm, where she developed a lifelong appreciation for nature, hard work, and the simple beauty of the world around her.
Nancy is survived by her brother, Alan Grove, and his wife, Tina; as well as several cousins, an uncle, and two aunts.
Nancy was an active member of Sojourners United Church of Christ in Charlottesville, Virginia, where she found community, friendship, and opportunities to serve.
She earned her associate degree in respiratory therapy from Piedmont Community College and went on to dedicate her career to caring for others as a respiratory therapist at UVA Hospital, where she later retired.
Nancy will be remembered for her warm smile, quick sense of humor, and the stories and jokes she loved to share. She was a loyal and caring friend, always ready to offer help, encouragement, and support when others needed it most.
She loved nature and often captured photographs of wildflowers and sunsets along the parkway. She also enjoyed tending to the plants inside and outside her home, visiting local farmers markets, and discovering new ingredients to use in her recipes.
Nancy was dearly loved by all who knew her and will be deeply missed.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on August 8 at Sojourners United Church of Christ in Charlottesville, Virginia.
