Nellie-Jo “Jo” Elaine Petersen of Sterling, Virginia passed away on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, at the age of 81 due to a stroke she had on Sunday. Per her wishes, there will be no funeral or Celebration of Life. She is being cremated and her ashes scattered.
The family would like to thank Sterling First Responders, the Doctors and Nurses at Inova Loudoun Hospital ER, ICU, and PCU, and the Doctors, Nurses, Social Worker, and Chaplain for Capital Caring Hospice for the care and compassion they showed our loved one and ourselves during our loved one’s final days.
