Mark Anthony Mika

Born December 5, 1954 in Perth Amboy, New Jersey, Mark was raised in Fords, New Jersey and graduated from Woodbridge Senior High School in 1973. He attended Lincoln Technical Institute, Union, New Jersey, graduating in 1975. Mark loved cars all his life. He attained the level of Master Automotive Technician from the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence early in his 40-year career in the automotive industry. Wherever Mark worked, he was recognized as hard working, conscientious, and highly skilled. Mark was the “go to” senior technician who would routinely take on the toughest jobs with his kind demeanor and warm smile. For the last eight years, Mark was very pleased to be working to keep customers happy in the service department of Pohanka Chevrolet, Chantilly, VA. Going back to his time in New Jersey, Mark also was an independent dealer for AMSOIL.

Mark loved God, country, and spending time with his extended family of aunts, uncles and cousins. His favorite joys were family gatherings at the Jersey shore, tinkering with computers and electronics, and he always enjoyed a good conversation about conservative politics.

Mark was preceded in death in 2020 by his father, Ralph A Mika. Survivors include his devoted mother, Bertha Margaret (Nagy) Mika of New Cumberland, PA, along with his two sisters and their husbands, Marissa J. and Timothy Shollenberger of Mechanicsburg, PA and Melanie R. and Scott A. Mason of Williamsburg, VA; nephew Ryan Shollenberger of New York City, NY and nibling Jess Shollenberger of Philadelphia, PA; nephew Nicholas Mason of Williamsburg, VA and niece Kayla Baker of Bakersfield, CA.

There will be no Mass of Christian burial or memorial service as the family will have a private service in the future. Arrangements are being handled by the Cremation Society of Virginia, Chantilly, VA.
