

Known to many as Rucj he was born and grew up in Clarksville, TN. He earned a BS in electrical Engineering from Vanderbilt University and his MS from George Washington University.
He married Sally Barksdale and they moved to Virginia where they raised their family in Vienna for over 50 years.
Rucj and Sally had four children and six grandchildren: Son late Malcolm (wife Kathy and sons Chaney and Jordan); Daughter Kathy (wife Lu); Son David (wife Heidi and daughter Hayley); Son Jeff (wife Heidi, daughter Reagan and sons Tanner and Caiden).
Rucj had many accomplishments including achieving Eagle Scout and serving as the Scout Master during his sons’ years in BSA, Licensed Patent Agent, invented US Military radar systems among a number of other inventions, IEEE Fellow inductee, member of The Cosmos Club, and served on NATO Committees.
Rucj loved his family and faith, a passionate magician, enjoyed hiking, fly fishing, art, history, and much more.
He was known as a very generous person and made a difference in the lives of many people who will dearly miss him.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Church of the Holy Comforter in Vienna, VA, on Tuesday, November 22nd at 11:00am.
