The Cremation Society of Virginia handles all details, including removal of the deceased from place of death and transfer to the Society, medical examiner authorization, cremation, filing of death certificate and return of cremated remains to appropriate individual. For those preferring burial, we handle all details including supervision of funeral or memorial services and interment.

1) Basic Cremation (Member price) ........... $1,075
This member rate for a simple cremation includes: removal from place of death (within a 35 miles radius of our facility), administrative and professional services, preparation of deceased for cremation, refrigeration (one 24 hour period), cremation, filing of the death certificate. Does not include fee for medical examiner’s certification (required by Virginia law). Note: Allow five working days for a simple cremation. Additional mileage charge may apply for services outside 35 miles from Society offices. Member rate represents a savings of $100 over non member rate.
2) Basic Burial (without viewing or ceremony) ........... $2,160
This member rate for a simple burial includes $25 membership fee, removal from place of death, administrative and professional services, refrigeration (one 24 hour period), filing of the death certificate, alternate care of remains, transportation to cemetery, services of Funeral Director at gravesite, cloth covered casket. Additional mileage charge may apply for services outside 35 miles from Society offices
3) Package and mail of cremated remains (USA only) ........... $55.00
4) Death Certificates (Virginia fee, per certificate) ........... $12.00
